Inspired by the pursuit of human rights and social justice principles, Maureen has been a professional Youth Worker for over 20 years in Victoria. She has a BA in Community Development from Victoria University and a Masters in Adolescent Health and Welfare from Melbourne University. She is currently working for a large not for profit organisation supporting vulnerable families and their young people to support them to return to education.
Maureen has always been community minded and in the past has volunteered for Scouts Victoria and the Victorian Youth Workers Association. She is currently an administrator of the Langwarrin Locals Facebook group and an online Youth Work Network. In 2016, she won the Victorian Youth Worker of the year award. Maureen is also on the Committee for the Cranbourne Lions Concert Band.

She would love to live in a world where every person has the opportunity to reach their full life potential regardless of their age, gender, ability, health, identity, culture and socio-economic status. Through great communication, working together and a shared vision, she understands that great things are possible. She hopes to bring her passion, creativity, resourcefulness and compassion to support her local community to build on its many strengths.
